Meeting in London discusses partnership with Rainforest Continent Business School

The possibilities of collaboration between research programs, British institutions and a Rainforest Continent Business School will be discussed on July 22 at 10 am at Clarence House, the official residence in London and seat of Prince Charles’ foundation of the United Kingdom.

Clarence HouseThe possibilities of collaboration between research programs, British institutions and a Rainforest Continent Business School will be discussed on July 22 at 10 am at Clarence House, the official residence in London and seat of Prince Charles’ foundation of the United Kingdom. The meeting will be organized by The Prince's Charities' International Sustainabilitiy Unit and IEA’s Amazon Transformation: History and Perspectives Research Group, which leads the initial phase of the school project’s detailment.

Maritta Koch-Weser, anthropologist, environmentalist and coordinator of the research group, will attend the meeting accompanied by José Pedro de Oliveira Costa, professor of USP’s Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism (FAU), advisor of the Secretary of Environment of the State of São Paulo and deputy coordinator of the research group. Justin Mundy, director of the Prince's International Sustainability Unit will also be present, as well as researchers from various universities of the UK and representatives of other British institutions.

The issues to be discussed at the meeting are:

  • The potential for collaboration with specialized UK applied research programs related to the development of socially and environmentally sustainable business development tropical rainforest areas in South & Central America, Asia, and Africa;
  • Potential partnerships with existing collaborative and overseas programmes of UK universities in biodiversity, forestry, environmental law, and business programmes that could  potentially contribute towards development of rainforest business education programmes;
  • UK Business Schools/MBA Programmes potentially interested in building up/adding rainforest business education to their curriculum.
