Renato Janine Ribeiro is the third member of the IEA-USP to take office in the federal government in 2015
Renato Janine Ribeiro has become the third researcher and former member of IEA-USP's Board to take office in the federal government in 2015 after being nominated minister of Education. The other two are Hernan Chaimovich, now president of the CNPq, and Carlos Roberto Ferreira Brandão, current president of the Brazilian Institute of Museums (IBRAM). Janine remains as coordinator of IEA-USP's Research Group The Future Inquires Us and as member of the Institute's Scientific Committee for the Intercontinental Academia, also joined by Chaimovich.

Disciplinary diversity and variety of activities will mark the first meeting of the Intercontinental Academia
The programme of the first meeting of the Intercontinental Academia (ICA), a joint initiave of the IEA-USP and the Institute for Advanced Research of the Nagoya University, invests in new formats and academic dynamics as well as in the potential transformation of interdisciplinary research. From April 17 to 29 there will be a series of activities such as conferences, workshops, scientific and cultural tours, group dynamics and discussions on the future of universities.
