Mahir Saleh Hussein
Mahir Saleh Hussein holds a BS in Physics from the Baghdad University (1965), and a Ph.D. in Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1971). After 35 years as a full professor at USP's Institute of Physics, he retired in May 2007. He is currently a senior professor and coordinator of IEA's Unconventional Nuclear Astrophysics Research Group. Hussein is an adjunct professor at Michigan State University. He is an advisor to the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) and the Brazilian National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq). His research interests are reaction theory, Bose-Einstein condensate, nuclear astrophysics, quantum chaos, and dynamical systems. He has published more than 320 papers with more than 4,200 citations. He has collaborated with more than 300 researchers during the last 40 years, and has organized numerous national and international scientific events. Deceased on May 16, 2019. |
