Nílson José Machado - Perfil

Nílson José Machado is a professor at the University of São Paulo since 1972, initially at the Institute of Mathematics and Statistics (IME-USP). Since 1984, he is linked to the School of Education (FE-USP). He holds a degree in Mathematics from USP, a Master's Degree in History and Philosophy of Education from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (1981), a Ph.D. in Philosophy of Education from the USP (1989) and a Ph.D. in Epistemology and Didactics from USP (1994). He has headed the Department of Teaching and Comparative Education Methodology for four terms. His main publications are on the interfaces between Epistemology and Didactics, and between Ethics and Education. He has also published about two dozen books for children from the age of five. Machado publishes microassays on his personal website www.nilsonjosemachado.net on a weekly basis.
