Rosana Aparecida Baeninger
Assistant Professor and coordinator of the Post-Graduate Program (2000-2006) of the Department of Demography of the Institute of Philosophy and Human Sciences (IFCH) of the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP,) Baeninger is also a researcher at the Population Studies Center (NEPO,) which she coordinated between 2006 and 2009. She holds a degree in Social Sciences (1984,) a Masters in Sociology (1992) and a PhD in Social Sciences - Area of Population Studies - (1999) from UNICAMP. She spent a Post-Doctorate (Senior Internship) period at the University of California, Davis (2014-2015). She became a Full Professor in the area of Population and Environment at UNICAMP's Department of Demography in 2012. She was the Professors' Representative at UNICAMP's Board of Directors (2016-2017). Baeninger was the Secretary General of the Brazilian Association of Population Studies (ABEP) (2005-2006). She was UNICAMP's coordinator of the Sérgio Vieira de Mello Chair for refugees (ACNUR) (2017-2018,), and is the coordinator of the Migration Observatory in São Paulo since 2008. Her topics of interest include internal and international migration, urbanization, and population dynamics. |
