Deadline: February 24, 2021

The Zukunftskolleg is an Institute for Advanced Study at the University of Konstanz for the promotion of outstanding early career researchers in the natural sciences, humanities and social sciences. It forms a platform for interdisciplinary discourse between researchers in Germany and abroad, and provides them with resources for obtaining extramural funding. Researchers at the Zukunftskolleg perform research without administrative constraints and have the freedom to engage in meaningful exchange with other up-and-coming colleagues and with distinguished senior researchers.

Up to 4 (post-)doctoral stipends are available for up to 3 months (with justification for up to 4 months) and are based at the Zukunftskolleg. The start date is between September 1st, 2021 and October 1st, 2021. The on-site stipends are complemented by a digital fellowship extending it to a 12-month fellowship.

The Zukunftskolleg Konnect Fellowships support early career researchers from Africa, Asia and Latin America who are associated with one of the thirteen departments at the University of Konstanz. ZUKOnnect Fellows can use this time to extend their research networks and to get to know the research environment at the University of Konstanz while keeping their roots and position at home. As these fellowships can build a first bridge to the German and European academic system, we also encourage doctoral students in their last year to apply. From this call onwards, the “Manfred Ulmer-Stiftung für Wissenschaft und Gesellschaft” will support one ZUKOnnect Fellowships.
