SPECIAL STORY

Amazônia 4.0 begins training Amazon communities for chocolate production

During this last quarter of 2023, the Amazônia 4.0 Project installed the first Amazon Creative Laboratory (LCA) in the Suruacá community, a part of the Tapajós-Arapiuns Extractive Reserve, in the State of Pará, aimed at training residents to produce chocolate. The project seeks to encourage the commercial exploitation of forest resources in a manner associated with their preservation and for the benefit of communities. The entire process is monitored by sensors connected to a Wi-Fi network and the product packaging has a QR code that allows you to obtain all the information about the origin of the chocolate. In 2024, the LCA will be successively installed over three months in three other communities in Pará.

The IEA wishes everyone happy holidays

In a changing society, the search for peace, tolerance, and equity must be a daily matter. We hope that every day of next year is an opportunity to build a better society. The IEA will always be open to reflection and dialogue. We will be on recess from December 26 to January 1. See you in 2024!
