Marcelo Rezende

Born in São Paulo, Rezende is a journalist, a curator and a critic. He was the director of the Museum of Modern Art of Bahia (2013-2015) and responsible for re-organizing the Salvador Biennale (2014).
Among his main curatorial projects there are: "Bienal de Salvador" (Salvador, 2014) "À La Chinoise" (Hong Kong, 2007)
"Comunismo da Forma" (São Paulo, 2007; Toronto, 2009)
"Ver o Tibet" (Rio de Janeiro and New York, 2010).
"Estado de Exceção" (São Paulo)
He has been one of the editors of Bravo magazine, content editor of the Culture and Thought Program of the Ministry of Culture, and of Cult magazine, where he also served as editorial director. He was the international correspondent for Gazeta Mercantil (1998/2002) in Paris, and reporter for Mais! and Folha de São Paulo Ilustrada (1993/1998). He was the editor of the publications project of the 28th São Paulo Art Biennale: Em Vivo Contato and is the creator of the Situações essay collection. Member of the Pequeno Comitê (PC) agency. As an author, his books Arno Schmidt and Ciência do sonho: A imaginação sem fim do diretor Michel Gondry stand out. |
