Postdoctoral Fellowships 2019-20
Applications are invited for Postdoctoral Fellowships lasting up to ten months from candidates in any area of the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. IASH provides an enviable location in one of the world’s most intellectually inspiring cities, together with a dynamic network of international connections. £12,500 bursary available.

Junior Anniversary Fellowship 2019-20
In our 50th anniversary year, we are creating a ten-month Fellowship for the most promising early-career scholars in the arts, humanities and social sciences. For 2019-20, we seek applications centred on the place of the humanities in the 21st century to take forward inquiry in a cross-disciplinary way, perhaps at the outermost boundaries of the humanities, arts and social sciences. £15,000 bursary available.

Digital Scholarship Postdoctoral Fellowships 2019 - 2020
These Visiting Fellowships of between three and six months are intended to encourage outstanding digitally-focussed, interdisciplinary research, international scholarly collaboration, and networking activities with a specific focus on the digital. £7,500 bursary available.

CSMCH-IASH Visiting Postdoctoral Fellowship in Modern and Contemporary History 2019-20

This three-month Fellowship is intended to encourage outstanding early-career interdisciplinary research and scholarly collaboration in the broad field of modern and contemporary history. The CSMCH has selected this year's interdisciplinary research theme as 'revolution', and applicants must address this theme. Otherwise, there is no limit on geographical area or time period, as long as the bulk of research falls within the 'modern and contemporary' period (c.1750-present). £3,300 bursary available, plus travel grants.

Library Fellowships 2019-20
Applications are invited for three to six month Library Fellowships from postdoctoral scholars in any area of the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, to examine special collections held at the University of Edinburgh. The collections include archives, manuscripts, rare books, art, musical instruments and other museum collections, many of which have either not been catalogued or not fully researched, presenting novel opportunities to a wide range of scholarly disciplines. Topics for 2019-20 can include the Scottish Session Papers, archives of Thomas Nelson or Arthur Koestler, Middle Eastern manuscripts or the Malawi collections. £7,500 bursary available, plus travel grants.

The Zukunftskolleg’s AAA Fellowships support early career researcher from Africa, Asia and Latin America. The AAA Fellowships have a duration of up to three or six months and are offered to researchers related to one of the thirteen departments of the University of Konstanz. You can use this time to extend your research networks and to get to know the research environment at the University of Konstanz, without losing your ties to your home university. As these fellowships can build a first bridge to the German and European academic system, we also encourage doctoral students in their last year to apply. As an AAA Fellow, you will have a Zukunftskolleg Fellow as a partner who will help you integrate into your respective department and will support you during your research. Funding follows DAAD rules and will include a stipend of 1.200€/ month and a contribution to traveling to Konstanz and back. The Zukunftskolleg will not offer employment contracts for AAA fellows. You may negotiate a contribution to health insurance and visa costs with the Central Office after the application was granted by the Executive Committee.

The Max-Weber-Kolleg is offering doctoral positions for Ph.D. projects in the fields of Classics, Religious Studies, Sociology, Philosophy and especially in the fields of North American and Modern History and Ancient History as well as related subjects within the framework of the International Graduate School (IGS) “Resonant Self–World Relations in Ancient and Modern Socio-Religious Practices” directed by Prof. Dr. Jörg Rüpke and Prof. Dr. Hartmut Rosa (Erfurt) and Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Spickermann and Prof. Dr. Irmtraud Fischer (Graz), funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG). The positions are to be filled by 1 October 2019 for a period of 29 months, with the option of a further extension of seven months possible. The project is a cooperation between the Max-Weber-Kolleg at the University of Erfurt and the University of Graz. Participants are required to spend one academic year at the cooperating university in the second year of their term.

The Daiches-Manning Memorial Fellowship honours two outstanding scholars of eighteenth-century Scottish literature and culture, Professor David Daiches (1912–2005) and Professor Susan Manning (1953–2013). Bursary of US$3,000/£1,800 in support of research on any aspect of eighteenth-century Scottish studies.
